I know this has been asked before and the only reply was a link to demo software - I think that I should be able to do this for free by now (Outlook 2003 with Exchange 2007) surely? A user managed to hose his laptop disk and using a recovery tool I found a gap in his.pst archives being nicely plugged with a 7GB.OST file (no idea how this came about). Build it making sure to check the box for Offline use. Once it is connected, force outlook into offline mode (I usually pull the network connection as well just in case). With outlook forced to offline mode, close outlook. You can now delete the OST file that was just created and replace it with the OST file that you wish to recover from. Thanks Artie, that is kinda what I have done - I logged to a laptop as the user, made Outlook offline, closed it and replaced the.ost that was there with the recovered one and it opened with no probs. Since I managed to do that I have discovered the dates I am looking for are not on that.OST, I think I have lost the plot!
